Hereditary thrombophilia is responsible for more than half of the cases of thrombosis.
We offer a study that analyzes 24 variants in 18 genes associated to an increase in thrombotic risk.
When is the genetic study of thrombophilia highly recommended?
- When there is a personal history of thromboembolic disease:
- Deep vein thrombosis or recurrent thrombophlebitis
- Pulmonary embolism
- Recurrent abortions
- Treatments with oral contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy and fertilization cycles.
- Other risk conditions:
- Pregnancy, obesity, smoking, advanced age, pathologies associated with thrombophilia and prolonged immobilization.
