Read MorePart of why I chose to go with Fertilab was that I liked that it wasn't part of a chain; it's not in a huge, overwhelming building and you didn't feel like just another number. It also has over 25 years' experience, so it's small but mighty. I live in Barcelona so was able to communicate in Spanish, but I overheard English, French and Italian, so they are able to accommodate to other language needs. All staff I interacted with - whether doctors, nurses, receptionists, cleaners - were always friendly and helpful, especially when answering my queries over the phone and email. And you get responses the same day, so you're not left waiting which was much appreciated, particularly post-operation. This isn't an issue particular to Fertilab as I encountered it at all the clinics I went to, but it would be nice to see a more diverse use of photos that are used around the clinic - particularly as they are stock images - so it doesn't appear that only white women and het couples have fertility issues or can become parents. The day of the operation is a bit of a blur, but I remember everything being swift - I was taken to the operating room within about 20mins. After the operation, I was given a packet of biscuits and a carton of juice (you can't eat or drink anything, not even water ~8hrs before the operation). As you're put under general anaesthetic, I was incredibly woozy so naturally it took me longer than normal to open the packet and get the straw into the carton; some help from a nurse to do this would have been appreciated as I'd not eaten or had anything to drink in 9/9.5hrs so was ravenous and very thirsty. Also, I was told to let them know if I needed anything, but the sliding door would be completely closed so a couple of times I had to wait a while until someone walked past to hear me as I couldn't really shout and there was no button/buzzer I could press to get their attention. Fertilab was among the most reasonably priced clinics I went to and they also work with a local pharmacy that provide a discount on the injections/medications that you have to take, which was useful. You also have the option to finance your treatment if you're not able to pay all at once - with zero interest or commission - so they seem to do all they can to make treatments as accessible as possible. I went to four clinics before deciding on where I wanted to go. Fertilab was the third clinic I visited; the one I went to the day before my first appointment at Fertilab I was convinced I would go with, but meeting Dr. Ana Perez immediately swayed me. She is incredibly warm, patient and thorough - the latter two qualities I appreciated most of all because she explained things to me that the other doctors I'd seen at the other clinics hadn't and I came with a catalogue of questions and Dr. Perez answered them all, including using visual aids such as diagrams and videos. Dr. Perez is also very pragmatic about success rates, so sets realistic expectations. Her team of nurses were nice - some more so than others but all were still very professional. I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Perez, but I hope I have at least conveyed how at ease I felt with a doctor that I really only had a handful of appointments with. A real credit to Fertilab and the industry. Read Less
- 5The fertility journe... Read MoreThe fertility journey is a very sensitive one, especially if you've only just started to dig into it and are trying to understand what you want with your body as a female. Such was my case. On top of trying to find out what fertility clinics even could even do for me, I was not able to attend fertility clinics in my own country. I therefore needed to get familiar with a different way of working and a new medical staff and system abroad. From my very first point of contact with Fertilab, the entire staff has been incredibly supportive and responsive with me. After a few intake questions asked by the patient assistant, he/she guides you to a medical assistant. In my case, I was assigned to the international medical assistance team. Any question and doubt I had were always responded to with care and kindness. And believe me, I had MANY. About the medication, the costs, the possible side effects, the procedures, the admin stuff, my travel and stay etc. I was able to talk to my doctor for a first intake online, then traveled to the clinic to get the necessary scans and blood work done. From thereon, things went fast and within the next cycle I was put on medication. No waiting lines, no heavy administration. The check-ups at the clinic were always punctual and clear. Again, any questions asked were answered very transparently. Fertilab is a small clinic that is very personalized and makes you feel at home! I would like to give a huge thanks to Dr. Andrade and her wonderful staff of nurses and assistants, to my caring and reassuring coordinator Miriam and to the patient assistant Manuel. I would recommend this clinic to any woman trying to figure out her fertility journey. Read Less

They were responsive via email and by telephone and answered all my questions regarding the IVF and administratif procedures. My medical assistant Clara (and her colleagues) were genuinely warm and caring people and saw me through the process with much support and encouragement. If there is one criticism of Fertilab I have to make is that I was not extremely impressed with their onsite presentation (cold exams rooms, a bit of a long wait time at the clinique, professionalism of staff who greeted me) which seemed a bit too casual and not up to the quality I expected. It was perhaps due to the fact that I had my procedure done on a Saturday. But overall, everyone was kind and the procedure was a terrific success. We are happy to have a baby boy with us today thanks to Fertilab. Read Less
